Applications are invited for filling up the vacancies for the post of Directors in National Institutes of Technology (NITs) at Agartala, Jamshedpur & Raipur in the grade of Rs.25,000/- (fixed) plus other allowances as admissible under the rules of the Institutes. The appointment shall be made on contract basis for an initial term of five years with the possibility of renewal depending upon the merits of each case.

AGE:   The candidate applying for the post should be below 57 years of age at the time of interview.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Ph.D. Degree with first class degree at Bachelor’s and Master’s level in Engineering / Technology. In addition the candidate should be an eminent person in the field. He / she should have 15 years experience in Teaching / Industry / Research out of which 5 years must be at the level of Professor or equivalent.

OR

Candidates from Industry / Profession with Maters Degree in Engineering / Technology with Professional work which is significant and can be recognized as equivalent to Ph.D. Degree having 15 years experience of which at least 5 years should at a Senior level comparable to that of Professor would also be eligible.

AND

“The qualification and experience of the post of Director NITs would be as per All India Council for Technical Education Notification No.1-65/CD/NEC/98-99 dated 15.03.2000 and PD/Pay/01/2001-2002 dated 28.02.2002. This would also apply to those from Industry and Profession categories.”

DESIRABLE:    

1.         Administrative experience in a responsible position.

2.         Published research work of high standard.

3.         Membership of Professional bodies.
