In addition to the award of prizes to the authors of the books/manus- cripts, 2000 copies of each of the prize-winning books will be purchased, according to the terms prescribed by rules, for distribution in schools, libraries, children's centres etc. at a Price which the Ministry considers reasonable and provided the illustrations, printing, get-up of the book are suitable and acceptable to the Government of India.

In addition to the 2000 copies of each of the 28 books mentioned above it has been decided to purchase 2000 copies each of one book in Kannada and Telugu by way of encouragement, though their authors were not awarded any prizes.
