In addition to the award of prizes to the authors of these books/manuscripts, -1,500 copies each of these books will be purchased for free distribution in the Developmental Block% etc. of the respective State Governments, at a price which the Ministry considers reasonable and provided the illustrations, printing, get-up of the books are suitable and acceptable to the Government of India.

Besides these 39 prize-winning books, 1,500 copies of one more book in Kannada will be purchased. Its author has been awarded a prize for another book in the same language. Under rules, be is entitled to only one prize for any number of his books selected under the competition.
