APPENDIX F (c) SUPPLY OF CRAFT EQUIPMENT
The bottleneck in the conversion of ordinary schools into Basic even when efforts, it has been found difficult to get the necessary equipment prepared and money is made available is the supply of craft equipment. Inspite of repeated supplied to schools. Often the provision remains unutilized. It would therefore, be desirable if some central agency were set up by Government which would manufacture and supply equipment of a standard pattern to School Boards which indent for it. In Bombay the work is entrusted to the Village Industries Board but owing to a variety of work which is now undertaken by the Village Industries Board, the demand of Basic schools for craft equipment cannot be promptly met.
