The Ministry of Home Affairs gives grants-in-aid for State Schemes and Central Schemes for purposes of promoting the welfare of the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes (under Article 275(1) of the Constitution), Ex-criminal Tribes and other Backward Classes in the States. The Reports received from the State Governments in this regard are attached.
