APPENDIX J :
FORMULATION OF SYLLABUSES FOR
 HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOLS AND
 PRE-UNIVERSITY CLASS
 

It has been pointed out that the syllabus for the Higher Secondary school should not be dominated by requirements of the university and yet the intention is also that those who pass out of the Higher Secondary school should be declared eligible for admission to the degree courses. For some time to come it has to be presumed that Higher Secondary schools and Pre-University classes would exist side by side. It is not clear as to how a parity of standards could be brought about without a clarification of the lines on which syllabuses for the two courses have to be prepared. The matter requires full and complete examination.
