It is proposed to set up during 1940-50 "sponsored" basis during the year under review. It is proposed to set up during 1949-50 "sponsored" schools in the district of Hooghly (on the lines recommended by the Central Advisory Board of Education).

(a) Basic Training Schools under direct control of the Provincial Government to which candidates recruited from among the ranks of trained and experienced teachers and craft and constructive workers holding the graduates degree or diploma or equivalent qualification are attacked as apprentices to acquire proficiency in craft work, correlated instruction and the other aspects of Basic Education. The approach to theories is practical supplemented through a system of supervised self-study.

(b) A Training Centre of Arts and Crafts in the West Bengal. Two Basic Trained teachers having aptitude for rats and crafts deputed for advanced Training in Arts and Crafts.

(c) An All India Institute. Candidates trained here are attached to the Basic Training School in the Brindaban area in Champaran for advanced craft work and practice teaching in Senior Basic schools and Post-Basic High School.
