APPENDIX C (d)- ACTION TAKEN ON THE RECOMMENDATION OF CENTRAL ADVISORY BOARD OF EDUCATION ON THE SETTING UP OF A COMMITTEE ON AIR TRAINING.
The advisory committee has not yet been formed. The proposed Committee is to consist of two representatives of each of the three Ministries of Defence, Communcations and Education. In response to the invitation to the Ministry of Defence to on nominate two representatives the Committee, they have replied that they have under consideration the formation of a National Cadet Corps Organization, in order to stimulate interest in the defence of the country and to impart training in schools and colleges for all the three Defence services. The Ministry of Defence have, therefore, suggested that for the present the formation of the Committee be postponed

until a final decision has been taken regarding the National Cadet Corps Organization. No reply has yet been received from the Ministry of Communications regarding their views on the question.
2. The following resolution on the subject has been adopted by the Inter University Board at their meeting held at Cuttack in December, 1947.-
"Resolved that the subject matter be referred to the Govt. of India for a statement of their present policy on the matter of introducing Cadet Training in all its aspects from the High Schools to the Colleges."
The Board recommends to the Govt. of India that it is desirable that a speedy action be taken towards promoting cadet training in Schools and College$.
