MANAGEMENT OF EDUCATION
 

13.1 The management structures necessary for the effective implementation of NPE Schemes are being studied. The CABE Committee on Management of Education has already discussed the frame-work suggested by the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration for establishment of State Advisory Boards of Education, District Boards of Education, School Complexes and village Education Committees.

13.2 The NIEPA has prepared a programme for training of educational administrators for the implementation of the National Policy on Education. States level officials from 23 States/UTs have been trained in school mapping, micro-level planning and strategies for implementation of NPE. The remaining States/Uts will be covered in the next three months.

13.3 The management structures for vocational education at plus two level, Navodaya Vidyalayes and National Literacy Programme have been contemplated.

13.4 For the first time, the Planning Commission has set up a Working Group on Planning and Management of Education as part of the Eighth Five Year Plan exercises. That group has already met twice.
