vi) Evaluation System : Many respondents have expresed dissatisfaction about the present examination system which encourage remote learning, engages students in serious study for only a limited period in a year providing thereby ample vacant time with them to engage themselves in not so gainful activities. It is becoming increasingly different to conduct examinations. It has been suggested that the institutions should not conduct any examination. They should certify only the length of stay of the student, subject offered and the grade obtained by him. in internal examinations. There should be one public examination after class X. The employers as well as authorities of higher/professional institutions should conduct their examinations for recruitment/admission. This brines to another recommendation made by the respondents, i.e., delink degree from the job. The basic argument behind this recommendation is that there are many avenues available with the serious student to prepare himself for a particular position. So, let the employer satisfy himself about the competence of the applicant.

Secondly, the university degree has already been discredited as majority of employers in the country hold their recruitment tests. Thirdly, it should save educational system from many unhealthy practices that plague it today. There are some recommendations favouring continuous rather than one-time evaluation of the student. Some other recommendations suggest that internal assessment should be encouraged in which 50% evaluation may be by the faculty and 50% evaluation by computer through objective type question.

vii) School Complex : It has been strongly recommended that horizontal as well as vertical linkages should be strengthened. `Quality' institutions should circulate their `success stories' and suggest to sister institutions to emulate them. Teachers of the higher institutions should help teachers of their subject working in lower institutions in academic as well as in professional matters. The sharing of resources among institutions would result in better utilization of the available facilities. It has also been suggested that U.G.G. should open centre in each state capital as it would encourage cooperation among colleges located within a state.
