PREFACE
 

This study presents an analysis of trends in respect of Indian Students and Trainees who have gone abroad for higher studies during 1992-93. Basic data for the study was collected from the Reserve Bank of India. We are grateful to the Reserve Bank of India for providing the useful data for this study.

I would like to place on record, my deep appreciation of the team effort and the work done by the Project Staff of Statistical Division, CMIS Unit and S & S section in bringing out this useful publication under special drive for updating Educational Statistics.

It is hoped this study will be of interest and use to educational planners, administrators and research workers in the field of higher education.
