PREFACE
This is the third edition in the series; "Education in India-Vol. III 1978-79" after the introduction of revised system of collection of educational statistics in 1976-77. The publication contains examination results of Secondary and Higher education level conducted by the various examination Boards/Universities in India. It gives out turn of private/regular students in the combined form. The publication comprises of two parts. Part-I contains the examination results of various courses at all India level whereas Part-II gives the statewise and sexwise examination results.
This Ministry gratefully acknowledges the assistance and cooperation extended by State Governments and Union Territory Administrations in supplying statistics for this publication.
