Only those elements of grammar are to be stressed which help
towards practical comprehension of the language and its use in
speech and writing. Grammar should not be treated as a subject
in itself. But the student should be made conscious of its value
in the correct use of the language when lessons of the text are
carried on in the classroom, and exercises in translation and
composition are corrected.
