Recognised Senior Secondary examination of NOS for admission to affiliated Colleges of the University for higher studies vide Dy. Registrar (Acad) letter No.NU/Acad(3)/Recognition/91-92 dated 12.11.1991.
Condition: Pass in minimum five subjects as per CBSE/Other Boards scheme of examination.
Recognition conveyed vide their letter No.SSSIHL/92-93/ Equiv/749, dated 19.6.1992 giving the following eligibility criteria:
The Institute admits students on the basis of admission test open to those who have passed +2 level or intermediate level of CBSE and various other Boards. The students should have qualified in General English and another language such as Hindi or Sanskrit or any other regional language and three subjects such as Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or Botany, Zoology and Chemistry or Mathematics, Commerce and Accountancy or History, Economics and Civics etc.
The Institute insists that the students should have taken a minimum of five subjects at +2 level for eligibility for further study.
Recognised Senior Secondary Examination vide their notification no. AHSEC/EQ 118/85/8965, dated 11.11.91, under intimation to Universities of Guwahati and Dibrugarh. It further states that the students passing Secondary Examination (at the end of Class X) conducted by the National Open School Society, Delhi, shall be eligible for admission into the H.S. 1st year class under the AHSEC.
Recognised NOS Senior Secondary Examination as equivalent to Higher Secondary/Pre-University standard or 10+2 pattern of education vide Memo No. XIV/RDE/2/2882-7, dated 27.6.92 for purposes of higher studies under this university.
Recognised Secondary and Senior Secondary Examinations conducted by NOS vide their letter No. DT/171, dated 20.3.92.
The candidates will have to qualify in an All India Entrance Examination conducted by this School. The minimum qualification prescribed for appearing at this examination is pass in I.Sc or 10+2 or XII or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English. Therefore, the candidates desirous of appearing at the Entrance Examination of this School must offer these subjects at Senior School Examination Level.

Recognised Secondary and Senior Secondary Examination vide letter No. 3178/ XX-455, dated 13.1.1992 with the following conditions:
Conditions: Secondary: Must have passed in five written subjects of external examination at one and the same sitting and that these five subjects must include English, a second language and three other written subjects.
Senior Secondary Provided that the candidate had obtained pass marks in English and three other written subjects at one and the same sitting.
Equivalence to NOS Sr.Secondary examination certificate granted vide letter No. IG/ADMSS/REG/92/783 dated 6.8.92. for the purpose of joining the graduation courses provided a candidate has passed 10+2 with five subjects.
Eligibility conditions for admission to higher studies conveyed vide its letter No.Inf.Sec/92-93/20369, dated 1.8.92 as under:
"That students passing 10+2 examination from National Open School, Delhi with four subjects (one language and three best elective subjects be considered to be eligible for admission to 1st year degree

course. However, in the courses, if any, where there is requirement of five subjects, in that case in five subjects will be eligible."

Conditions: Pass in minimum five subjects according to statute-150(A) of the university. It states a candidate who has passed the Higher Secondary (12th Standard) School Certificate Examination conducted by the Gujarat Secondary Education Board or an Examination recognised equivalent thereto shall be considered eligible for admission.
Equivalence to NOS Sr. Sec. Exam. granted vide letter No.UGC/GEN/1634/93, dated 5.3.93 for admission to higher courses, subject to fulfilment of certain conditions regarding subjects/ percentage of marks obtained as laid down in the Statute 182 of the University.
Statute 182
Qualifications for enrolment of students of the University -
(a) For admission to the First Year B.A. Class, a candidate shall have passed the Higher Secondary school certificate Examination conducted by the Gujarat Secondary Education Board or an examination considered by the University as equivalent thereto.
(b) For admission to the First Year B.Sc. class or the First Year B.E. Class or First Year B.Pharm Class, a Candidate shall have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination, with science group of subjects, conducted by the Gujarat Secondary Education Board-or an examination considered by the University as equivalent thereto.
(c) For admission to the First Year B.Com. class, a candidate shall have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination with commerce group of subjects, conducted by the Gujarat Secondary Education Board or an examination considered by the University as equivalent thereto.
(d) For admission to the First Year of the five year Law Course a candidate should have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination conducted by the Gujarat Secondary Education Board or an examination considered by the University as equivalent thereto, and has obtained 45 per cent marks in the aggregate in the qualifying examination for admission, provided that in case of students belonging to scheduled castes and scheduled tribes a relaxation of marks upto 5% in the qualifying examination may be given.
Recognition to NOS Secondary and Sr. Sec. Courses conveyed vide their letter No. Acad/92/AI/13797 dated 19.5.92, subject to fulfilment of minimum requirements as laid down in the Prospectus of the University.
Recognised NOS Senior Secondary School Examination as equivalent to the +2 stage of examination under 10+2 pattern of Education for further studies a this University, with the following conditions, vide letter No. ACM-2/339/ 91/20485, dated 12.9.91:
- Pass in five subjects (two Languages and three electives)
- Pass Senior Secondary Examination in one or two attempts through compartment/supplementary exams with 33% in some subjects and 40% in subjects like typewriting etc.
- Candidates who did not pass subject in Senior Secondary examination will be required to pass at the:
(i) Supplementary exam. of the same year; or
(ii) Annual exam. of the following year.
Recognised NOS Senior Secondary examination certificate as equivalent to +2 level examination of Haryana School Education Board, Bhiwani vide its letter No. AC-III/27/91/19039, dated 13.11.91.

Conveyed vide their letter No. 3036 dated 14.10.92 that candidates who have passed 10+2 from NOS are allowed to appear at the Entrance Examination for admission to B. Tech. (DT) if they had offered Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English in the NOS examinations.
Recognised NOS secondary and Senior Secondary Examination equivalent to its Matric (Xth) and Senior Secondary (XII) Examination respectively for higher studies, vide its letter No. HB(2)278/Genl /Equl/vol.V/85-4846-4925 dated 7.9.92.
Sanskrit/Urdu/Tamil/Telugu (b) one elective subject, and Senior Secondary Students have offered English plus three electives, to be chosen from one of the following:
(a) Humanities, (b) Science; (c) Commerce.
NOS Senior Secondary Examination certificate recognised as equivalent to Senior Secondary examination (+2) by the H.P. Board of School Education, Dharamshala for the purpose of admission to next higher class subject to the condition that a candidate has passed in English +3 other subject from NOS vide

"Conveyed vide letter No.UHF(Acad) 4-4/86-1/-35792 dated 27.3.93 that NOS student passing 10+2/equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics/ Agriculture of a recognised Board/ University with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the above subjects can appear in the entrance Examination for admission to B.Sc. (Horticulture) and B.Sc.(Forestry) 4-year programmes in this University".
Recognised NOS Senior Secondary Examination Certificates for admission to higher studies if passed with five subjects, vide letter No.F.Acd/92/4455, dated 23.10.92 14.
Recognised NOS Senior Secondary Examination Certificate (12th Std.) for admission to B.E./M.B.B.S/B.D.S./B. Pharma/BHMS, BANS courses of the University vide letter No. KU/Aca/Crt/Recog/92-93/5347, dated 14th October, 1992 subject to satisfying eligibility requirement for the respective courses.
Eligibility conditions conveyed vide their letter No.KU/AB-2/BOS- 2/768/92-93, dated 18/19.5.92 that the University shall require a candidate in the NOS to have studied at least six subjects of which two shall be the language subjects.
Recognised NOS Senior Secondary Examination as equivalent to the Higher Secondary or Pre-University Examination for purpose of admission to the Undergraduate programmes of the University vide letter No. nil, dated 9th November, 1992 if the canidates have offered English and secured 50% in the aggregate in English and other courses excluding the second language and must not have completed 20 years of age as on July 1st of the year of admission (22 years in case of SC/ST).
Conveyed vide letter No.R/SA-1/18, dated 19.10.92, that NOS students fulfilling the minimum requirements prescribed by the University will be considered as eligible for admission to higher studies.
Eligibility requirements conveyed vide letter No.R/4326-A/92, dated 27.10.92 that for admission to various Bachelor's Degree courses of the University, a candidate should have studied Physics, Chemistry, Math & Biology, besides securing 55% marks in the two year Pre- University Examination of the Karnataka Pre-University Board or an equivalent examination with the same combination.
Sanction to grant provisional recognition to the Senior Secondary Course with a pass in five subjects including English conducted by the National Open School, Delhi as equivalent to Pre-Degree of this University for purpose of admission to higher courses in this University subject to ratification by its Academic Council conveyed vide its letter No. GA.I/AI/4643/90 dated 8.6.92.
Recognised NOS Senior Secondary Certificate Examination for the purposes of higher studies vide letter No.Acad/Two/195/92/6370, dated 23.10.92, if the candidates offered minimum five subjects including one language (English/Hindi), at the Senior Secondary level.

Recognised Senior Secondary Certificate Examination of NOS as equivalent to the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary Higher Secondary Education for the purpose of admission to this university vide its letter No. E1/ C.4669 dated 5.8.92
Conditions: Provided that the examination is taken after two years subsequent to the passing of the Xth standard examination.
Recognition conveyed vide its letter No. CLB/equi/13884, dated 20.10.92 for the purpose of admission to higher courses on reciprocal basis.
Recognition conveyed vide letter No. Acad-1/92-93/451 dated 9.11.92 about the recommendation made to its Executive Council that candidates of NOS who pass in five

subjects including language be considered eligible to B.A. Part I, and candidates who pass in five subjects including languages and three commerce subjects, be considered eligible to B.Com Part I.
Recognition to NOS Secondary & Senior Secondary courses conveyed vide letter No. YCMOU/VC/1240, dated 7.10.92 for the purposes of admission to various courses of the University and treated equivalent to the corresponding examinations conducted by the Secondary School Examination Board and Higher Secondary Examination Board.
"Conveyed vide letter No.SU/Eligi/ Equi/SBN/6319 dated 13.3.93 that the University authorities have recognised the examination conducted by N.O.S.
