In addition the SIETs also telecast programmes in teacher education in the states of Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat. Programmes related to school children are telecast daily from Monday to Friday for children of the above states. They are meant to supplement primary curriculum.
From among its stock of video programmes, the CIET, in consultation with the Department of Teacher Education and Special Education, Department of Pre-school and Elementary Education, DIETs and subject experts identified about forty programmes covering areas like Developing School Readiness, Creating a School Climate for Effective Teaching-Learning, Girls' Education, Value Education, Teaching of Language (Hindi), Mathematics and Environmental Sciences, Art Education, Work Experience and Health and Physical Education so that the package could be used by institutions in their pre-service and in-service training programmes. The video programmes of this package could also be used and integrated in the Special Orientation of Primary Teachers.
In order to facilitate the effective use of the video programmes; of the package in teacher training, an attempt has been made to facilitate the user through this guide. The guide gives details of the programme and preparation and follow-up activities.

To begin with, the users. of video programmes are advised to go through the "General Guidelines for Using ETV Programmes" and study the briefs of the concerned video programme and build the lesson plan using the programme sequencing to illustrate concepts, enhance experience and start discussions.
We hope the package and the user guide will be found useful in teacher training situations. We solicit suggestions for further improvement of the package and the guide.
