Eligibility Indian nationals (A) Tourism Mgt Age 22-30 yrs (22-32 yrs for SC/ST). Qualifi-
cations: Bachelor's degree with 55 % marks and 1 yr Diploma in Tourism (change-
able). (Conversion formula should be given where grades have been awarded).
Experience: 1 yr practical experience in the field of Tourism after graduation. Addl
Requirements: Command of written and spoken English and sufficient knowledge
about Austria. 3 yrs consecutive stay in India after return from abroad for study,
training on national scholarship. Applicants who are abroad at the time of notification
are not eligible.
Value Scholarships include : Fee for registration, medical inspection, tuition including
expenditure on food production and beverage service, accommodation,
excursions, health insurance, final exam.

(B) Hotel Mgt course is not covered under Austrian Govt. Scholarships Scheme
and is open for self-finacing students. There is a possibility that the course is
covered under the scholarship scheme in the coming years.
Fee of Austrian Schillings 155.190 (Approx 'Us $ 12.933) is payable by students.
They may apply direct to the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management,
Schloss, Kiesshelm, A-5071, Siezenhaim near Salzburg, Austria.
Eligibility 22-30 yrs. Qualifications 10+2 with 60% marks with 3yr Dip in Hotel Management
(55 % marks) and 1 yr experience. Knowledge of English/European language.
(C) Research Subjects
Eligibility Age 21-35 yrs. Qualifications: Master's degree in the subject/related field with
60% marks. Experience 2 yrs (consecutive) in teaching/research after obtaining the
prescribed qualification. MPhil degree is counted towards one year's
experience. Addl Requirements as at (A) above.
Value Allowance of Austrian Schillings (AS) 6,800 pat and book allowance of AS 1,000
per semester (changeable).

Value Scholarship includes monthly allowance of Austrian Schillings (AS) 6,800 (Approx
Rs. 9,060 for PG students); AS 8,000 (Approx Rs. 10,600) for Asstt. Professors
(changeable) with allowances for health insurance, univ fees, books and accommo-
dation. Allowances granted by Austrian Govt are sufficient for one person and no
financial support or other facilities are available for spouses/relatives.

DENMARK

Purpose The scholarships are designed for advanced students, graduates and specialists to
enable them to study/carry out research at Danish University or institution of higher
education but not for elementary study. These are not intended for a full course
of study as academic degree/diploma cannot normally be obtained.
Eligibility Indian nationals residing in India. Age Below 33 yrs, (35 yrs for SC/ST). Qualifi-
cations Uniformly good academic record with 60% marks at Master's degree in the
subject/related field. Experience 2 yrs consecutive teaching/research after passing the
prescribed qualification. MPhil degree is counted- towards experience. Upper age
limit and experience can be relaxed upto 3 months in case of brilliant candidates.
Candidates should have obtained an invitation from one of Danish institutions of
higher education. Candidates having knowledge of Danish language are preferred,
Candidates having no knowledge of Danish should be fluent in English/German
to receive guidance From teachers/scientists. Addl Requirements: 2 yrs
consecutive stay in India after return from. abroad on study/training and good knowl-
edge about Denmark.
Value Scholarship covers free tuition plus a monthly allowance D.Kr 3,720 for students
and graduates and D.Kr 4,280 for research workers/specialists. The scholarship is
annually regulated and is tax free in Denmark unless the total stay exceeds 365 days
within a 2 yrs period. The scholarship, is intended to cover living expenses of a person
and additional amount for accompanying member is not available. Scholarship
holders are not allowed to enter into paid employment.
