Duration : Upto three years
Course & Scholarships will be available for advance training abroad to sports coaches, physical

Research
Countries The applicant should have got confirmed admission in any institution abroad for a
of study/ relevent course. The Institution abroad should be reputed Institution and the course
Research should also be such as is found useful keeping in view the conditions prevailing in our
country.
Age Not more than 25 years(as on 1st October of the Year of Selection).
Values of Maintenance Allowance upto US $ 7,000 per annum payable in local currency. The
scholarships actual cost of books, essential apparatus, study tour (coach class fare) within the
country of study (not in other foreign country) and binding of thesis as recommended
by the Professor/Trainer/Concerned will be paid, but it shall not in any case exceed
US $ 350 per annum. Tuition and Examination fees and all such fees and charges
levied by foreign institutions/Universities/Organisations.
Passage Economy class air passage bothways upto destination, first class railway fare from
Cost residence to the port of embarkation and back or second class railway fare from the
port of disembarkation to the place of study and back.
Mode of The selection of the candidates will be made through a Selection Committee constituted

SCHOLARSHIP FOR ADVANCED COACHING/TRAINING OF
OUTSTANDING SPORTSPERSONS
Duration : 6 Months No. of scholarships : 3
Age : Not more than 25 years.
Eligibility Only exceptionally meritorious, active sports-persons who already proved worth in
international competitions and having potential to enable them to win better laurels.
The coaching/training programme should be either at a reputed institution or under a
well known coach.
Value of Maintenance allowance upto US $ 7,000 per annum payable in local currency, suitable
Scholarship special diet allowance, actual cost of essential playing equipments not exceeding US $
350, coaching/training fee.
Passage cost Economy class return air passage upto destination and 1st class rail fare from residence
to port of embarkation and back and second or coach class rail fare from port of
disembarkation to place of training and back.

Number of 100 each State and 40 for each UT. Total : 2780 per academic year.

Types of National and State/UT level
scholarship
Value of National level: Rs.4800/- per annum.
scholarship State/UT level : Rs.3600/- per annum.
Object of Open to boys and girls showing meritorious scholarship performance in sports in
the Scheme recognition to their sports achievements as also to provide means for nutritious diet,
sports equipment and personal gear to develop further their talent.
Eligibility i) Should be a regular student of a recognised school upto 10+2 standard
ii) Age should not exceed 17 years as on the first day of the academic year.
Extendable in special cases upto 19 years.
iii) Should not be full time employee in any organisation
iv) Should not be in receipt of any other sports scholarship
v) Should not be covered under any residential sports coaching programme
Mode of National level: Team events- The members of the Winners and Runners-up teams in
Selection the following events:
i) National Championships organised by recognised Sports Federations for
Seniors, Juniors and Sub-Juniors.
ii) National Championships organised by School Games Federation of India.
iii) National events organised by SAI under All India Rural Sports Tournaments.
iv) National events organised by SAI under the scheme of Sports Festival for
women.
v) Subrato Mukherji Football Cup for Juniors.
vi) Nehru Hockey Tournament for junior and Sub-Juniors.
viii) Outstanding individual payers, recommended by the organizers of the event.
Individual Events: The, first 3 position holders in the following Championships/
Tournaments, provided in measurable disciplines of sports, their performance is either
above or equal to the minimum qualifying standards as prescribed age-wise separately
for boys and girls.

i) National Championship organised by the recognised Sports, Federations for
Seniors, Juniors and Sub-Juniors.
ii) National Championships organised by School Games Federation of India.
iii) National events organised by SAI under All India Rural Sports Tournaments.
iv) National events organised by SAI under the scheme of Sports Festival for
Women.
Selection State Level Scholarships:
Criteria Team Events : a) The members of the winners and Runners-up Team in the following,
events:-
i) State Championships organised by the corresponding affiliated State Units of
the recognised national federations for Seniors, Juniors and Sub-Juniors;
ii) State Championships conducted by School Games Federation of India;
iii) State events conducted under the Scheme of Sports Festival for Women;
b) The individual sportspersons recommended by the organizers of the
event.
Individual Events : The first 2 position holders in the following Championships/
Tournaments provided in measurable disciplines of sports in the following events:-
i) State Championships organised by the corresponding affiliated State Units or
recognised Sports Federations for Seniors, Juniors and Sub-Juniors.
ii) State Championships organised by School Games Federation of India.
iii) State events organised by SAI under All India Rural Sports Tournaments.
iv) State events organised by $Al under the Scheme of Sports Festival for Women.
Applica- The applications are to be submitted to 'The Executive Director, Sports Authority of
tions India, Netaji Subhash National Institute of Sports, Motibagh, Patiala - 147 001, on or
before 30th September of the Academic year by the Principals/Head Masters through
proper channel.
Sanction Sanction Committee constituted by SAI shall consider all the applications on the basis
procedure of sports merits alone. It will have right to independently verify particulars given
in the application form from the appropriate sources and the decision of the Sanction
Committee shall be final and binding. No interview.
