The National University of Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA), a Deemed University, is an autonomous organisation set up and fully financed by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development. The objectives of the University are to undertake, promote and coordinate research in educational planning and administration, provide training and consultancy services in this field, to train and orient key level functionaries as well as senior level administrators from the Center and States, to collaborate with other agencies, institutions and organisations, to provide facilities for training and research to other countries particularly of the Asian region in the field of educational planning and administration and to prepare, print and publish papers, periodicals and books, to share experience and expertise in the area of educational planning and administration with other countries and to conduct comparative studies for the furtherance of these objectives.

2.     During 2007-2008, 42 training programmes have been conducted and 2 Research studies were completed while as many as 29 Research studies are in progress/Sanctioned. The target for 2008-09 is to conduct approximately 40 training programmes/workshops/ conferences/seminars and to complete the ongoing research projects including Ph.D and M.Phill.

3.     As against the intended training of about 1600 officials, 1275 officials have been trained till 29.2.2008. The exercise for preparing training programmes/Seminars for the year 2008-09 is underway and is expected to be completed by April 2008.

4.     The faculty provide consultancy and professional support to National, State and Institutional level bodies as well as International Organisations like the Ministry of Human Resource Development, University Grants Commission, State Education Departments, State Councils of Higher Education, SCERTs, SIEMATs UNESCO, UNICEF, World Bank and SIDA.

5.     The University maintains a well stocked Library/Documentation Centre on Educational Planning and Administration and Inter Disciplinary subjects. It is perhaps one of the richest libraries in the field of Educational Planning and Management in the Asian Region. It serves the faculty, research scholars and participants of the various programmes, as also other organisations through Inter Library Network.

6.     The library reading room facilities are open to all. The Library has a collection of over 57,895 books/ volumes, subscribes to as many as 348 periodicals and has a computerized catalogue of books and articles.
